What we process and why
- Newsletter. If you subscribe, we use your email address to send you our newsletter. You can unsubscribe at any time.
- Website statistics. We use Google Analytics to understand how the website is used, so we can improve it. It uses cookies and collects information such as the pages you visit, the links you click, your device and browser, and your approximate location. We have turned off data sharing with Google and advertising features in Google Analytics. You can block Google Analytics with Google's opt-out browser add-on.
- Applications and messages. If you apply to speak or to join one of our programmes, or if you email us, we use the details you give us to handle your application or message.
- Tickets. Tickets are sold through external ticketing platforms, which process your details under their own privacy policies. We receive the details we need to run the event.
- Photos and video. Our events are photographed and filmed. Talks may be published by TED on TEDx channels such as YouTube and ted.com. If you do not want to be photographed, or want a photo of you removed, email partners [at] tedxamsterdam.nl.
Who we share data with
We use service providers for hosting, email, forms, ticketing and website statistics. Some of them are based outside the European Union, so your data may be transferred outside the EU.
How long we keep it
We keep personal data no longer than we need it for the purpose we collected it for.
Your rights
You can ask us to access, correct or delete your personal data, or object to how we use it. Where you gave consent, you can withdraw it at any time. Email partners [at] tedxamsterdam.nl. You can also file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
