TEDxAmsterdam 2026: What Comes After Growth?

We're in between worlds, at the cusp of change. For our 16th edition, we open the floor to the ideas that could shape what comes next: technology and what it means to be human, economies beyond endless growth, and who gets to build the world we're inheriting.

WE'RE IN BETWEEN WORLDS,
AT THE CUSP OF CHANGE

As long-standing international rules, financial institutions, and technological paradigms face immense pressure, a universal question emerges. Is growth always net-positive? How do we define progress? And what can be built in the spaces that emerge?

This edition invites conversations that dissect the seismic shifts deciding our futures, from personal stories and social critique to economic analysis and new technology commentary. Everything's on the table, and nothing is off limits.

Amsterdam has never played safe. Its progress has always come from
reinvention.

Heat maps are the visual metaphor for growth this year. Density and intensity, surplus versus scarcity, renewal versus decay. Created with Dentsu, the agency partnering with us to bring the 2026 identity to life.

Through her ventures, she explores collective storytelling, advocacy and education, bringing what she calls “ruthless hope” to the challenge.
