We are announcing a new speaker every week on Tuesday’s. Today we are happy to announce that the very talented Danish architect Bjarke Ingels will speak at TEDxAmsterdam 20 November.

Danish Bjarke Ingels is principal of BIG, based in Copenhagen. The company achieved success very fast and received international awards for their inventive designs. An alumnus of Rem Koolhaas’ OMA practice, Ingels takes a similar approach: experimenting with pure space, but never losing sight of the building as a solution to a real-world problem. The first major project to be realized was the award-winning VM Houses in Ørestad, Copenhagen in 2005. After that, Ingels designed some truly fascinating buildings.

In July, Ingels spoke at the prestigious TED event in Oxford. TED.com describes his Talk as follows:

Danish architect Bjarke Ingels rockets through photo/video-mingled stories of his eco-flashy designs. His buildings not only look like nature — they act like nature: blocking the wind, collecting solar energy — and creating stunning views.
