Dutch Norah Jones comes to TEDx

It’s 11:00 on Tuesday, so we’re releasing new names of people who’ll speak at TEDxAmsterdam on November 20. Today, we can tell you about an incredibly talented photographer and columnist, the Dutch Norah Jones and the Chief Operating Officer of one of the world’s biggest entertainment companies.
Hans Aarsman
Hans Aarsman is a former photographer, who worked as a photo journalist at Dutch newspaper Trouw and published a series of books. In 1989 he published the book “Hollandse Taferelen” (Dutch scenes). Aarsman traveled through Holland with his camper for a year, and took pictures of landscapes from the roof of his camper. After 1989 he published three more photo books, before he left photography. He now writes about photography, a.o. for the Volkskrant. In 1993 he was awarded with the Maria Austria award.
Karsu Dönmez
Karsu Dönmez (1990) is a pianist and singer from Amsterdam of Turkish descent. She is seen as a major talent in the field of jazz and is being called the Dutch Norah Jones. Young as she is, she has already performed in Carnegie Hall in New York twice, and played her repertoire of original music, easy listening, classical and ethnic music in the world reknowned Concertgebouw. She is also a regular performer on Dutch TV, and has recently signed up with AT Productions/Sony Music.
Gary Carter
Gary Carter is COO of FremantleMedia, one of the biggest entertainment companies in the world. Next to being the Chief Operating Officer, he has the role of Chief Creative Officer of FMX, the cross media division of FremantleMedia. His job is developing entertainment for different platforms like mobile, broadband, game consoles and IPTV. Carter worked for Endemol Entertainment International as well as a consultant. At TEDxAmsterdam he will tell a personal story.
